The food was good. The wait staff had better things to do I guess. My water was never filled and I stood at the register 10 minutes before someone came.

Great for quick, casual dining at a reasonable price. Can get a little loud tho if there are a lot of families. Patio is nice in spring, summer, fall.

The food is great. The service is ok. Drink & food specials are good. But saving large tables, which are basically just a couple of smaller tables stuck together, for large groups that "might" show up (no reservations), telling groups of two, three, or four, that you don't have any tables on the patio available - that is absolutely ridiculous.

Very friendly very clean and a wonderful place for a meal with friends

The place was dead but some people were dining outside. I placed a to go order of bean dip and a water. It took well over 5 minutes for the bean dip which normally takes about 1 minute when you dine in. They also never gave me my water. Definitely have had better experiences at different locations.

Excellent menu and the food is the best Mexican food I've found in the St. Louis area. Great atmosphere and service makes this a must visit spot and makes it a regular place for me.

Come in Sunday morning and our server was amazing. I think her name was maybe Rosie or Rosa, it’s always “how are you guys doing today” “yes sir” “yes ma’am” , always gets everything done with a big smile and cheery personality. Love the food and margs here too! 10/10!!

Sunny skies and I cant eat on patio. Walked in and someone was on the patio. Get seated in a booth, not even 10 minutes later girls get sent to patio. Was gonna enjoy some drinks and dinner. Instead only one drink and dinner. Was gonna tell wife to come join, but not going back now. Pretty sad they would rather please younger girls than a working man ready to drink on the 4th holiday

El Maguuey at Lake St. Louis Mo was very good. Waitress was quick with drink orders. I had the steak quesadilla it was really tasty!! Great service. We will be back.

Our preferred El Maguey. For some reason the food is better and they offer different menu items than other locations. Option to sit outside makes the extra drive worth it.

This is a beautiful restaurant with a nice lakeside view. The food is delicious!!

The cashier charged me the wrong total. I noticed the anamoly by chance after coming back home and called them. The lady informed me that I need to come back to the restaurant to get it fixed. When I got there, she just refunded the amount without even asking for the card. She did not need the card to issue the refund! She could have issued the refund over the phone. After all this, she wanted to charge me for the food again. I confronted the manager and he was equally shameless. I returned the food to them which they gladly accepted. One of the worst customer services I've ever encountered. Absolutely pathetic! There are way better Mexican restaurants close by with way better customer service. I would give them a zero star if the site would let me!

It's nice and cozy sit out side on the deck there u'll be over looking the lake beautiful area to take a date out for dinner

Very good food, enjoyed myself.

2 stars for patio view, 0 for food. Terrible Mexican food. Salsa taste like tomato paste, didn't get fresh homemade chips and margaritas were so basic. Way too much sour mix. Everything lacked flavor.

The food was great and so was the service. We like to go to this one so we can see the lake from the outside seating area. Even though it doe not look that big on the outside it's a pretty big seating area with plenty if big tables for big families.

I’m from Sedalia ate here 2 months ago! The food and service was good. Returned today for a meal the Quesadillas Cheese was like soup and runny. Seemed watered down the meal disappointing. Unfortunate was hoping to be a regular. Unsure the difference from last time I ate here?

Sooo delicious and great view of the lake from the patio. So happy we found a Mexican restaurant near us that actually makes Chiles relleno and tacos al pastor how they should taste.

I’ve always had a good experience here until the last time we visited (6/15/20). Our server, I believe her name was Isabella, forgot about us. I had to ask twice for a menu and no one returned to take our order, (we waited for over a half an hour). My wife and I had to go to the register to get our check so we could pay for the Margaritas and leave. 2 stars because the Margaritas were great.

The food has really gone downhill and the prices went up but wasn't posted correctly on the menu. Very disappointing. We've been going there for 10 years. Won't be back for a long time, hopefully they will be better then.

Nice view from deck. Staff was fast and friendly. Went back a second time few days ago and it was just as good. Had the mixed fajitas and a burrito that was huge. Both really good.

Close to home and always good. Even when they are about to close they still make you feel like you can stay. Love it!

Spacious, good typical Mexican food at a great price.

Usually everything is amazing but today I had terrible service! My waitress, Isabella I think, hardly ever came to check on us even though they weren’t busy at all. I had to ask the buster and hostess for something several times. The food is the only reason we’ll be back.

I will not go back here for one simple reason: accountability. When you make a mistake, own up to it do not blame the computer or the “system”. I went to pay and the guy checking people out put the wrong total and when he realized his mistake tried telling me that I did not have enough money in my account which was a total farce. When he was challenged further, he persisted that he did nothing wrong and decides to refund the transaction which did not show back in my account right away so now until his”system” issues the refund I get $45 held in limbo. Funny how the “system” can take the money right away but not put it back in the same timeframe.

Been to many El Maguey's restaurants and this is probably the best one so far.

Best Mexican in the area and very friendly staff.

We've always had good service here, as well as good food. On nice days, I recommend the outdoor seating to enjoy the view of the lake.

Literally the best El maguey I've ever been at! Fast service and great food even on a Friday night they had our food out in like 7 minutes!!!!

We go there regularly for both lunch and dinner. We love it!

Horrible service. My family sat and waited for 15 minutes and had no one even acknowledged us. One waiter even looked at our table 5 times as he walked past without saying a word.
